OEM Inspection and Documentation Guide
A document request should identify the product, tested model, acceptance criteria, sampling level and party responsible for approval.
Before production
- Approved drawing and specification revision
- Inspection and test plan, if required
- Material and traceability document requirement
- Golden sample or first-article approval
During production
- Dimensional and visual checkpoints
- Thread, hole, weld, coating or assembly inspection
- Sampling frequency and acceptance criteria
- Hold or witness points for buyer or inspector
Before shipment
- Final inspection report
- Applicable test report or certificate copies
- Packing list, labels and shipping marks
- Product, bundle and container-loading photographs
Certificate boundary
- A certificate applies only to its named model and scope
- A test report applies only to the tested specimen or stated product
- Custom products are not automatically covered by another product's document
- All required documents should be listed in the purchase order
